Description
ADVERSE REACTIONS:
Stop taking this medicine and get emergency help IMMEDIATELY if you experience:
Stomach or intestinal bleeding.
Stop taking this medicine and notify your doctor AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience:
Constipation; Unusual bleeding.
BEFORE USING THIS MEDICINE:
Tell your doctor if you are having any of the following conditions:
THYROID problem; DIABETES.
HOW THIS MEDICINE SHOULD BE STORED?
Keep in original closed container in a dark, cool, and dry place away from children. Discard unneeded medicine.
Other Common Side Effects:
Vomiting; Stomach discomfort or pain; Bloating; Gas; Indigestion; Nausea; Skin rash; Headache; Heartburn; High chloride level;
Weak bones; Skin irritation; Perianal irritation; Decreased red blood cells; Numbness or tingling in hands and feet; Vertigo;
Loss of consciousness (fainting); Vein inflammation with clot formation; Anxiety; Ringing in ears; Swelling of feet or lower
legs; Muscle pain; Decreased appetite; Prolonged prothrombin time.
If symptoms are mild but do not go away or are bothersome, check with your doctor. IF ANY OF THE ABOVE SIDE EFFECTS IS SEVERE,
CALL YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY.

Taking this medication may cause the following mineral depletion:
FOLIC ACID; VITAMIN A & D ORAL; VITAMIN E; VITAMIN K; BETACAROTENE ORAL (SOLATENE); CALCIUM ORAL; FERROUS SULFATE ORAL;
MAGNESIUM; PHOSPHORUS ORAL; VITAMIN B12 ORAL; ZINC.
WHY IS IT PRESCRIBED?
For the treatment of disorders of lipid metabolism (to lower elevated cholesterol levels).
HOW MEDICINE IS ADMINISTERED?
Use this medicine exactly as directed on the label, unless instructed differently by your doctor
* A reduced-calorie DIET and increased physical activity are usually part of the treatment regimen. Follow prescribed diet and
exercise programs.
* Do not take the POWDER in dry form; mix with beverages, highly fluid soups, cereals or pulp fruits.
* Swallow TABLETS whole; DO NOT cut, crush or chew. Take with plenty of water or other appropriate fluids.
* Take this medicine WITH MEALS. You may take immediately before or immediately after meals.
* This medicine may INTERFERE WITH ABSORPTION of concomitant drugs. Take other drugs 1 hour before or 4-6 hours after this
medicine.
* Your doctor should check your progress at REGULAR VISITS to make sure this medicine is working properly and to check for
unwanted effects.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU MISS A DOSE?
If you miss a dose, omit missed dose completely; resume regular schedule. No double doses.
WARNINGS/PRECAUTIONS:
* Safety of use during pregnancy has not been established. This medicine SHOULD NOT BE USED DURING PREGNANCY unless benefit
justifies potential risk to the fetus. CALL YOUR DOCTOR.
* Do not sip or hold resin suspension in mouth for prolonged period of time. Discoloration, erosion of enamel or decay may
occur on surface of teeth.
* Phenylketonurics: Product may contain phenylalanine.
* This medicine may INTERFERE with the absorption of fat-soluble VITAMINS (A, D, E, K, and folic acid). Consider
supplementation with long-term use.
* This medicine may produce or severely worsen preexisting CONSTIPATION. A laxative, stool softener or increased fluid and
fiber intake may be helpful.
